Commercial Exterior Rebuild in Revelstoke, BC
Rebuilding the exterior envelope of an occupied BC Housing building under constant rain and strict safety controls.

Project Snapshot
Project Details
- Location: Revelstoke, British Columbia
- Client: BC Housing
- Facility Status: Fully Occupied
- Result: Safe, dry, and fully compliant exterior envelope modernization
Scope of Work
- Full exterior envelope remediation
- Weather mitigation and rain control
- Strict compliance with site safety protocols for occupied buildings
The Situation
BC Housing required a complete overhaul of the building's exterior envelope.
However, there were extreme logistical constraints: the building had to remain fully occupied by residents during the entire rebuild process, and the area was experiencing persistent, substantial rainfall which heavily complicated moisture control.
The Strategy
We formulated a plan centered on resident safety, strategic sequencing, and robust weather shielding.
Resident Safety
Safety corrdors and clearly marked active-work zones were deployed daily to ensure residents could enter and exit without any friction or risk from construction.
Weather Mitigation
Temporary enveloping and sequential tear-downs minimized the building's exposure to constant rain, ensuring no moisture penetrated the interior structure during transition phases.
What We Did
Segmented envelope teardown to limit weather exposure
Managed temporary protection from extensive rainfall
Integration of new air and vapor barrier systems
Strict daily protocols for public safety
The Result
Big Dog Exteriors successfully completed the envelope modernization without any disturbances to the residents' continuity of living or injuries on site.
The BC Housing property in Revelstoke is now fully sealed, compliant, and vastly more energy efficient, standing strong against the region's tough elements.
